Thanks to the advice of our Junior Hairstylists Marco Ruggeri and Elisa Gorini , all you need is the right products and a little practice to create a look for any occasion: from breakfast at the hotel to a business lunch, from an aperitif in the city to a romantic dinner on the beach.

With these 8 summer hairstyles for curly and straight hair, you will always have a well-groomed look and your hair will be light and away from your face.

Ocean Baby Beach Braids

1. Ocean Baby Beach Braids

STRAIGHT OR WAVY HAIR

  1. Apply the GATE 05 OCEAN VOLUME UP volumizing spray to towel-dried hair (roots + lengths), then dry.
  2. On dry hair, apply GATE 09 THERMO PROTECTOR and create Beach Waves with the curling iron; turn your head upside down and “open” the waves with your fingers or a wide comb.
  3. Take two small front strands (one on each side), apply a tip of GATE 18 OCEAN CERAGEL and create two thin braids.
  4. Summer only : a small amount of GATE 02 OCEAN SPA THERAPY CREAM all over hair for anti-frizz softness.
  5. Fix with GATE 11 OCEAN HAIR SPRAY MEDIUM .

CURLY HAIR

Enhance natural curls with GATE 05 at the roots and GATE 04 fluid along the lengths; dry upside down with a diffuser, then follow the other steps.

2. Ocean Boxer Braids

STRAIGHT OR WAVY HAIR

  1. On damp, combed hair, apply GATE 06 OCEAN MOUSSE SOFT for control and support; blow dry or let dry.
  2. Divide your head in two and create two braids (boxer braids). Helpful tutorial: video .
  3. Fixed with GATE 11 .

CURLY HAIR

For a soft effect: after drying, apply a small amount of GATE 02 to the lengths. For a tighter effect, control baby hair with GATE 18. Then complete the steps.

3. Ocean Messy Bun

STRAIGHT OR WAVY HAIR

  1. On dry, combed hair, apply GATE 25 OCEAN MATT VOLUMIZING POWDER .
  2. Leave a few strands of hair at the front loose; create a low ponytail, roll into a bun, and secure with bobby pins.
  3. Give movement to the front strands with the iron and fix with GATE 11 .

CURLY HAIR

Dry curls as usual, then apply GATE 25 without combing and complete with steps 2–3.

4. Ocean Braided Ponytail

STRAIGHT OR WAVY HAIR

  1. Apply GATE 02 protective cream to towel-dried hair and dry.
  2. At the root use GATE 18 for a wet effect and control.
  3. Brush back and create a ponytail (hide the elastic with a strand, if you like).
  4. Braid the tail and secure with GATE 11 .
  5. Recommended accessory: an organza bow like those from Claire's.

CURLY HAIR

Same steps, using a little more GATE 18 to tame frizz.

5. Ocean Braided Buns

CURLY HAIR

  1. Apply GATE 04 styling fluid to towel-dried hair and dry with a diffuser.
  2. Using the comb, create four front sections (see video ).
  3. Apply GATE 16 to each section, then two central braids + two external twists; secure with elastic bands and hairpins.
  4. With the remaining hair, create two side buns and secure them.
  5. Finish with GATE 11 .

STRAIGHT HAIR

  1. The night before: apply GATE 05 to the lengths of your hair, make 4–5 twists and soft chignons; undo them in the morning.
  2. Proceed with the steps above for braids/torchons and chignons.

6. Ocean Curls & Clips

CURLY HAIR

  1. Apply GATE 04 to the lengths of towel-dried hair; dry upside down with a diffuser without touching the hair.
  2. Create the low parting on the preferred side.
  3. To pull the clip-in area: use GATE 06 mousse and comb backwards.
  4. Add decorative clips (e.g. Snap Clips with pearls/stars).

STRAIGHT HAIR

  1. Helmet: distribute BEAUTY EXPERIENCE MOUSSE CREAM on damp hair and dry for a shiny finish.
  2. Long hair: spray GATE 09 (lock by lock) on damp hair and dry smooth.
  3. Finish with a glossy finish using GATE 15 OCEAN SHINE SPRAY . Complete with clips.

CURLY HAIR

  1. Apply GATE 04 to towel-dried hair and blow-dry with a diffuser, upside down. For softer curls, use GATE 06 .
  2. Wear the bandana as a headband, tying it at the back of your neck and leaving a few strands free.

STRAIGHT HAIR

  1. On towel-dried hair, apply GATE 06 soft hold mousse from the ends towards the roots; repeat the process 2–3 times and let air dry.
  2. Wear the bandana as a headband, leaving some of the front locks free.

8. Ocean Floral Half-up Braids

STRAIGHT OR WAVY HAIR

  1. Apply GATE 02 restructuring cream to towel-dried hair; dry and, if necessary, create soft waves and “open” them up with a wide comb.
  2. Make a center parting, leave two small strands at the front and create two braids (one on each side) as in the video .
  3. Gather the braids at the back with a clear elastic; hide it by wrapping a strand.
  4. Fixed with GATE 11 .
  5. Add hair pins/florals for a chic touch.

CURLY HAIR

  1. Apply GATE 04 to towel-dried hair; part the centre and dry with a diffuser.
  2. Leave two small strands at the front; apply a dab of GATE 18 to two other strands, comb them through, and braid them. Finish as above.
